This Rotala, which has not yet been identified, comes from south-western Vietnam and occurs in shallow waters there.

The demands on culture in the aquarium are similar to those of Rotala wallichii. When there is a lot of light, it takes on a pretty yellow-golden hue, and adding CO2 is also helpful in achieving good, broad growth. In order to keep the stems beautifully colored and to ensure a generally good supply of nutrients, we recommend fertilizing with VIMI Micro and VIMI All-in-One.

Particularly in aquascapes dominated by stem plants, Rotala sp. Vietnam is ideal for use in the middle and background and forms a harmonious, not too stark contrast to both red and green plants and ground cover.
