We received this fern from the region north of Buea / Cameroon and we are proud to have made the first import ever in 2005.
By comparing other skin ferns (Hymenophyllaceae) we now assume that it is Didymoglossum erosum, which occurs on the banks of small rivers and streams, but also grows in the ever-moist rainforest area.
The plant forms a dense plant of rhizomes with many very vertical leaves and likes soft or medium-hard water up to about KH12.
The color is wonderfully light green, slightly transparent and clear leaf veins are visible.
Ideally, this small fern is tied to stones or roots. It does not need much light and forms a few new leaves per month.
