Air-operated bottom filter for aquariums up to approx. 40 L. particularly suitable in breeding tanks for shrimps and juvenile fish. Used by many Japanese breeders. No running costs for filter sponges, etc. Food or plant residues cannot form rotting spots, as oxygen-rich water always flows through the substrate and thus all residues are completely broken down by bacteria.

The filter can be enlarged indefinitely, corresponding base plates are available as extensions. These soil filters from a Japanese manufacturer are used by many breeders and shrimp keepers in Asia. The bottom filter is placed under the soil or gravel in the aquarium (we recommend Ebi Gold ShrimpSoil or WaterplantSoil) and operated with a commercially available ventilation pump. The large and even circulation creates a perfect water balance in which the animals feel comfortable and reproduce well.

Bottom filters have been known and proven in aquaristics for decades. They run practically maintenance-free over the years. The floor filter can also be converted in a few simple steps and operated with an electric pump or an external filter.

The riser pipe for the water outlet can be attached to any of the base plates, so the filter can also be used in divided aquariums, polygonal shapes, etc. The air supply is practical and hidden through the riser pipe and is therefore not visible.

Included in the set:

• four base plates, each 14x7cm, which can be put together in any shape (lengthways or crossways), slot width 1.3mm, color black
• a riser pipe, adjustable from 24cm to 28cm (can of course also be shortened)
• a wide water outlet to avoid loud "gushing"
