This filter material is a universal genius for filtering and cleaning in aquariums.

It primarily has the function of biological filtering:
Nitrifying bacteria settle on the filter material; these are absolutely necessary for a stable biological balance in the aquarium. These are bacteria that gain energy from the oxidation (conversion) of ammonia to nitrite and from nitrite to nitrate.

Always use the filter media in the filter from coarse to fine. The filter wool should therefore be placed last in the aquarium filter, so that the cleaning bacteria settle there and the filter wool efficiently holds back the smallest dirt particles as well as algae residues and turbidity.

Never change all the filter media at the same time or not all of them, otherwise all the useful cleaning bacteria will be lost. Always keep about 25% of the old filter cotton in the filter and do not wash the filter media completely clean.

This filter cotton is also good for cleaning the aquarium panes or plastic housings or panels. It can be easily portioned out by hand and used like a sponge.
