Aridarum are rare and new plants in the aquarium hobby and a genus closely related to Bucephalandra, Schismatoglottis, Piptospatha and other Araceae. This robust variety grows in the fast-flowing rivers of Malaysian Borneo, where it can be found attached to stones and solid root wood in the bank area.
Aridarum has needle-like dark green and shimmering blue leaves that are reminiscent of rosemary in appearance and have a waxy texture. Aridarum can grow emersed or submerged and is suitable for the aquarium long-term, even if there is no CO2 fertilization.
Like Bucephalandra, ferns and Anubias, Aridarum grows creeping along the rhizome and should be tied to root wood or stone. Aridarum is therefore an ideal epiphytic plant to use in aquariums. It should not be planted directly into the substrate.
