Micranthemum tweediei

A completely new rarity is this "large pearl grass", which forms great ground-covering vegetation thanks to its rapid growth. The rounded leaves are slightly larger than other Micranthemum species, but the growth is always flat and ground-covering. The plant is quite undemanding and thrives very well even without the addition of CO2.

You can also use this aquarium plant as an epiphyte for planting root wood or in cracks in stones - not least this interesting use makes this Micranthemum a popular plant in aquascaping and many other underwater landscapes.

A lot has happened in the species identification of the Micranthemum originally named "Montecarlo-3" in 2017 and it has now been safely identified as Micranthemum tweediei (it was previously commercially available as Micranthemum sp. Montecarlo).

This beautiful, easy-care pearl herb is also available as a ready-to-plant mat measuring approximately 15x11cm.
