These beautiful, very delicate roots for the aquarium and aquascape are slightly thicker from the middle and then finely branched and therefore appear very light and distinctive in a layout. These bright roots are really beautiful in combination with mosses and small epiphytes (such as Anubias Pangolino or small Bucephalandra) and are therefore also perfect for shrimp aquariums.
Red bog roots are obtained from the rootstocks of Asian rhododendron bushes, so they are not true 'bog roots' as the name suggests. They contain less humic and tannins than other aquarium roots and therefore do not color the water as much. However, it is slightly acidified, which noticeably increases the willingness to spawn and the general well-being of fish. The numerous branches are also often used as a resting or spawning place.
Shrimp often and happily graze the roots after the slightest growth of algae and romp around on them in large numbers.
Red moor roots offer healthy fiber to catfish and crabs in your aquarium and aquascape, as the wood is often taken as an additional nutritional supplement.
The roots are dry and not pre-watered, so they have to be weighed down in the aquarium or aquascape until they stay down or can of course be watered in advance outside the aquarium.
Please do not boil the red Moorkienholz! This would destroy the biochemical balance in the wood. The pieces are carefully hand selected, washed and dried.
Since this is a natural product, deviations are possible, each piece looks different.
