Like all new plants, this new, well-growing moss needs a few weeks to get used to the new water parameters and then forms slightly upward-striving shoots. It grows well on stones and wood and is also a great eye-catcher in terrariums or in the Wabi-Kusa, with which you can also leave flat areas beautifully overgrown.

The small moss that grows upright underwater, also known as nano moss, has only been discovered for the aquarium hobby in the last few years.
It was identified as Amblystegium serpens by Prof. Benito C. Tan (Singapore). However, since we first imported this aquarium moss as Amblystegium fluviatile many years ago, we still offer it with this name.

The moss has little demands on the water parameters; clean water (weekly water changes) and CO2 accelerate growth greatly. We recommend “FERKA Aquashade” or VIMI Micro as fertilizer, which contain special trace elements for the mosses.
The moss can be cut and retied at any time. It is ideal as a grazing place for shrimps and as a hiding place for small fish.

Please note that the illustration shows the emersed growth of aquarium moss (growth above water). In the aquarium (submerged growth) the moss changes its appearance significantly and it then continues to grow with the well-known, described growth habit.
