The Java moss only needs a short time to get used to the new water parameters and then grows very quickly and forms fine adhesive roots with which it grows onto lava stone, wood, filter mats and even bare glass panes. This means you can use this moss to grow over practically any object in the aquarium, and you can also use it to “hide” the HMF.

The moss has little demands on the water parameters; clean water (weekly water changes) and CO2 accelerate growth greatly. We recommend “FERKA Aquatilizer and Balance K” as fertilizer, which contain special trace elements for the mosses and support growth. In poorly planted aquariums or if you only use mosses and ferns, Ferka Aquashade is an ideal light fertilizer especially for these plants.

The moss can be cut and retied at any time. It is ideal as a grazing place for shrimps and as a hiding place for small fish.
