The very fine shoots of the Leptodictyum, also known as stringy moss, reach up to around 15cm and thus create a beautiful effect in combination with low mosses and plants.
The moss has little demands on the water parameters; clean water (weekly water changes) and CO2 accelerate growth greatly. Harder water is also tolerated well and very good growth can be observed at lower temperatures. We recommend “FERKA Aquashade” or VIMI Micro as fertilizer, which contain special trace elements for the mosses.
The moss can be cut and retied at any time. It is ideal as a grazing place for shrimps and as a hiding place for small fish. Ideally, the moss is tied to small stones or root wood where it grows easily.
It is a very lush growing aquatic moss that occurs practically worldwide and can also be used in moist paludariums, terrariums or bottle gardens.
Please note that the illustration shows the emersed growth of aquarium moss (growth above water). In the aquarium (submerged growth) the moss changes its appearance significantly and it then continues to grow with the well-known, described growth habit.
