We can offer you some beautiful species or variants of Bucephalandra (family Araceae). These plants are endemic to the largest Malaysian island, Borneo. There are now more than 200 different species or variants known, which have not yet been determined in more detail and are therefore often described with “trade names/fantasy names”.

After some euphoria (at this time these names were invented), the Bucephalandra Skeleton King (or Bucephalandra Achilles or Dark Skeleton) was determined as Buce. kishii, but it is still mostly known by these fantasy names.

In terms of color, it is remarkably dark, sometimes almost completely matt black, and is the only Bucephalandra to show very pronounced, strong venation in the leaves both emersed and submerged.
The young leaves remain beautifully colored for a long time in darker brown-gray-cognac tones to slightly red-brown. The older leaves then turn very dark, almost dark green to black depending on how you look at them. It grows slightly higher than most other Bucephalandra and always with an upright rhizome.

The dark blue-purple shimmering oil cells on the leaves are clearly visible. The stem is beautifully colored red-brown. There is a darker version of Bucephalandra kishii as well as a more dark green-olive green version.
A very special plant!

The plants are robust and are best tied to root wood or stones. The rhizome should not be planted directly into the substrate.

Offspring from a leading European nursery. No wild harvesting from the wild - this protects the natural resources and ensures you fresh plants of the best quality.
