There are now more than 200 different types or variants known, which have not yet been determined in more detail and are therefore described with “trade names”.

Bucephalandra spec. 'green Velvet' is one of the medium-sized growing varieties. It produces broader, elliptical leaves that are bright green to dark green in color. Furthermore, this variant has a clearly visible colored marbling in the leaves and a slightly wavy leaf edge. Young leaves are usually light green to light orange in color and form a great contrast to the older leaves of this plant.

The plants are quite robust and are best tied to root wood or stones.
